[ Ring ring, little fireman! ]

[Of course he picks up, it's Joe. He answers, sounding pleased, but curious.]

Hey, what's up?

[macmillan]

Not too much. Hey, I meant to ask you— wait, where are you right now?

[agoodsoul]

Up in a tree rescuing baby kittens.

[He's kidding.]

M'home right now. Why, you wanna come over?

[macmillan]

[ Well. ]

Yes, actually.

[agoodsoul]

[Oh. Well.]

Oh, uh. When?

[He needs to clean up a bit. Please don't be at his doorstep.]

[macmillan]

[ Not at his doorstep, but about halfway there... ]

When's good for you?

[agoodsoul]

[Joe.

Dennis is up and already starting to do a quick clean up. Grabbing things and tossing them in the trash, going to his room to pick up his dirty clothes, make the bed real quick. Yep. Joe might be able to tell he's doing this, from the noises as he talks.]

Now's fine, I mean if now is good?

[macmillan]

Are you sure? You sound busy...

[agoodsoul]

Uhhh... just a little spring cleaning.

[Dennis. It's summer.]

[macmillan]

Dennis. It's almost fall.

[ He laughs quietly. The little bell that signals someone on the city trolley wanting to get off at the next stop rings somewhere in the background. He's not on it, just passing by. ]

You're not cleaning for my sake, are you? I'm not coming over for your apartment.

[agoodsoul]

I'm a bit late, whoops?

[Can Joe hear that cute little smile on his face as he says it? Cause it's there.]

I needed a reason to pick my shit up, you're the best reason, so... and you already on your way here?

[macmillan]

Yes. Do you need me to stall?

[agoodsoul]

Nah, m'almost done. I mean unless your standing outside my door right now.

[macmillan]

I'm not. But I will be, in about... three minutes, tops.

[agoodsoul]

Glad I showered this morning.

[He'd hate to be a complete mess in front of Joe.]

[macmillan]

Are you?

[ I mean, he could have waited... ]

[agoodsoul]

You wouldn't of liked the smell if I hadn't.

[... what you want to shower with him? Just get him dirty again.]

[macmillan]

What were you up to that you smelled that bad?

[ One minute... ]

[agoodsoul]

Wouldn't you like to know...

[Dennis deepens his voice to try and sound all sexy, mysterious... he just sounds goofy. And adorable.]

[macmillan]

[ The tone of Dennis' voice makes Joe smile, a tiny huff of a laugh escaping him. Admittedly, he kind of loves it when Dennis talks like that, even if he's usually being cheeky when it happens. ]

I mean, that's why I asked.

[ Knock knock, dear. ]

[agoodsoul]

[Dennis still jumps a little at the knocking at his door, the little puff of a breath leaving him audible over the phone.

He's quick to go answer, phone still held to his ear as he opens the door.]

Hey, I gotta go. This real fit guy just showed up at my doorstep. Gonna let him in.

[macmillan]

[ Joe's standing on the other side, one hand tucked into his front pocket, and the other still holding the phone up to his ear. He smiles when he sees Dennis, but doesn't hang up just yet. Instead, he sucks in a quiet breath through his teeth. ]

Yeah, I have to go now too. I met this really handsome guy a while ago, thought I'd pay him a visit, so - talk to you later?

[ His left eye squints just slightly, very quickly, like a phantom wink, and Joe hangs up finally, his fingers closed around his phone. He's still looking at Dennis - hasn't looked away from him since he opened the door. ]

... Hey.

[agoodsoul]

[There's a smile breaking across his lips when Joe calls him handsome, when he winks. This is so stupid honestly, but at the same time he likes when they fool around like this. All silly and such.

He'll hang up next, casually stuffing his phone into his pants pocket.]

Hi.

[Dennis tilts his head up just a bit, wondering what this is all about. It's not like they don't hang out just for the hell of it, there just tends to be more of a warning. Joe usually isn't already on his way. He wonders if something is up, but the way Joe is looking at him makes it hard to care.]

You can't come in. Not without the pass code.

[He's being cheeky now, blocking the doorway.]

[macmillan]

[ Joe has the decency to look a little bit shocked. To be fair, it's probably not all acting - he's not shocked, but he is a little bit confused, wondering if maybe he's forgotten some kind of code word they came up with a thousand years ago. Joe doesn't really forget things, though (sometimes he wishes he could), so it's got to be Dennis just playing around.

He crosses his arms, moving forward a little to lean his shoulder against the wall next to the door frame, looking down at Dennis. ]

Oh yeah? Since when do I need a passcode?
